VPSA Oxygenerator

Short Description:

The VPSA Oxygen Generator is a pressurized adsorption and vacuum extraction oxygen generator. Air enters the adsorption bed after compression. A special molecular sieve selectively adsorbs nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water from the air. The molecular sieve is then desorbed under vacuum conditions, recycling high purity oxygen (90-93%). VPSA has a low energy consumption, which decreases with increasing plant size.
Shanghai LifenGas VPSA oxygen generators are available in a wide range of models. A single generator can produce 100-10,000 Nm³/h of oxygen with 80-93% purity. Shanghai LifenGas has extensive experience in the design and manufacture of radial adsorption columns, providing a solid foundation for large-scale plants.

Product Description:

The VPSA oxygen generator produces enriched oxygen from the atmosphere. It works by using a blower to transport filtered air into an adsorber. The special molecular sieve in the adsorber then absorbs the nitrogen components, while oxygen is enriched and discharged as the product. After a period of time, the saturated adsorbent must be desorbed and regenerated under vacuum conditions. To ensure continuous production and oxygen supply, the system will typically include multiple adsorbers, with one adsorbing while another desorbs and regenerates, cycling between these states.

Application:

VPSA oxygen generators can be used in the following industries
• Iron and steel industry: Blowing high purity oxygen into converters reduces melting time and improves steel quality by oxidising impurities such as carbon, sulphur, phosphorus and silicon.
• Non-ferrous metals industry: Smelting of steel, zinc, nickel and lead requires oxygen enrichment. The pressure swing adsorption oxygen production system is the ideal oxygen supply source for these processes.
• Chemical industry: The use of oxygen in ammonia production improves the process and increases fertiliser yield.
• Power industry: Coal gasification and combined cycle power generation.
• Glass and glass fibre: Oxygen enriched air fed into glass furnaces and combusted with fuel can reduce NOx emissions, save energy, reduce consumption and improve glass
